Claudio writes all the lyrics for the band, and all the lyrics are part of a concept story called The Amory Wars. It was originally call The Bag.On.Line Adventures. The story takes place in a sci-fi fictional world. It is about the character Claudio Kilgannon trying to take revenge on Wilhelm Ryan for killing his parents, Coheed, and Cambria. Wilhelm Ryan is the Tri-mage ruler of heavens fence. For the final chapter in the story, Claudio is supposed to kill Wilhelm and accept the mentality of "The Crowing."

     Claudio says he takes major influences from bands like Pink Floyd, Rush, and Iron Maiden. He writes a lot of lyrics very similar to Pink Floyd. His voice is a lot like Geddy Lee (lead Singer and bassist from Rush). His playing style id a lot like Iron Maiden. Coheed and Cambria did a cover of The Trooper by iron Maiden, and very recently, on tour to support the newest album, Good Apollo I Am Burning Star IV, Volume II: No World For Tomorrow, they play a short part of The Trooper which includes, both verses two chorus' and the guitar solo.

     Claudio has a side project which he does a lot of keyboard work with an industrial type sound to the music. The project is called The Prize Fighter Inferno, which is about a character out of The Amory Wars story named Jessie Kilgannon, who is Claudio Kilgannon's uncle and Coheed Kilgannon's brother. He has recorded and produced one studio album with his free time over the course of seven years. He says that some it was recorded so long ago that he could not go on a tour with it because he could not remember most of his own work.
